The Town of Norman Wells Economic Development and Tourism Committee wishes to inform the community that the Economic Development Conference “Today and Beyond” which was scheduled for August 2022 will be postponed to 2023. More information to come!

The Town of Norman Wells plans to host its first annual Economic Development Conference which will present the latest in economic development trends and practices, allowing attendees to glimpse future economic opportunities not only in Norman Wells, but in the Sahtu Region. This is a courtesy note to advise all local businesses that we are expecting an influx of outside visitors into Norman Wells around August 10-15, 2022, subject to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic.

The Town of Norman Wells is dedicated to promoting sustainable economic prosperity by providing innovative resources, networking opportunities and professional development solutions.

TODAY AND BEYOND will attract over 130 local, regional, and territorial and other experts in the field of economic development, as well as territorial elected officials.

This forum will bring together economic development leaders to discuss what is happening in Norman Wells and the Sahtu Region. Attendees will identify practical ways to move the economy forward; and brainstorm ways to support each other. The conference will focus on economic development issues and trends, best practices, inspiring keynote addresses, and interactive in-person networking opportunities. In addition to the conference, we will also be hosting live music entertainment and other sporting and recreational activities for participants as well as the community!

Should you have any questions relating to the Economic Development Conference, registration, sponsorship opportunities, Covid-19 safety protocols, attendance etc. please contact Councillor Kacee Hunter (chair of the Economic Development and Tourism Committee), Councillor Dave Wever (vice chair of the Economic Development and Tourism Committee), or Kayla Turner (Community Engagement Manager). Information will be shared regularly with the community as the planning process continues!

We thank you in advance for your support of this event!
