This is a friendly reminder to please yield the right of way when you see Norman Wells Volunteer Fire Department trucks responding to an emergency call. Every second counts and giving us extra space on the road helps us reach the scene safely and quickly.
Traffic collisions while responding to emergencies are a leading cause of injury among firefighters. Your cooperation can make a crucial difference in our ability to help those in need.
Additionally, please be aware that failing to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle is not only dangerous but also a violation under the Motor Vehicle Act. If caught, this infraction can result in a summary offense ticket and a mandatory court appearance.
Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our community safe.
Sincerely,
Brandon Scott
Director of Protective Services/Fire Chief
