2023 Advancement of Equity and Inclusion Committee’s Women of Excellence Awards
The Women of Excellence Awards Banquet and Ceremony celebrates the outstanding achievements of women and girls in the community.
The annual awards have been created to honour women who possess vision, innovation, leadership, individuality and tenacity with the ultimate goal of being a role model for other women.

Authentic Leader Award is presented to a woman who demonstrates exemplary leadership and has made significant contributions to the community and or her industry. She has not only earned the respect of her peers to rise as a leader and role model, but she has also earned the admiration of her friends/colleagues/associates. She empowers and supports other women in her life. She emphasizes building honest relationships, values input, leads by example. She is changing the landscape in which women serve.
Cultural Ambassador Award is presented to an Indigenous woman with a record of significant contribution by way of her dedication to enriching the lives of others. She may be a member of the performing arts, film, or broadcasting community. She is an advocate for women and leads by example to make an impact in the lives of others through her work.
Youth Leadership Award is presented to a female youth who is making an impact in the community inspiring youth to think outside the box, follow their dreams and take action to put these dreams into motion. The youth excellence award recipient is someone under the age of 21.
Diversity and Inclusion Award recognizes an individual or a leader within the community with a commitment to developing and maintaining a diverse and inclusive culture. The recipient of this award may be an advocate for those without a voice, those who have experienced discrimination or have been challenged by human rights issues such as race, age, gender or sexuality.
