The Town of Norman Wells, thanks to GNWT ENR, has received $8,000 of funding for the Take a Family on the Land Program.
The program is intended to offset some of the costs associated with on the land activities, to encourage and enable more NWT residents to pursue those activities, as families. The program is intended to be used to support families in need who may not have other resources to support land-based activities.
The Town of Norman Wells Advancement of Equity and Inclusion committee has used the funds to purchase outdoor equipment such as: children and adult fishing rods, tents, camping stoves, kayaks, and more!
