Food Drive Donations Reach $17,500!

To help ease the stress of food insecurity during the holiday season, members of our community came together and made the Town of Norman Wells 3rd Annual Holiday Food Drive a huge success.

Over $17,500.00 was raised for the Town of Norman Wells Free Pantry as well as large amounts of non perishable food items! These donations will help keep the pantry shelves stocked for the upcoming year.

We are continually amazed by the generosity of so many who donate to the Free Pantry! It is in this space that we attempt to thank those that contribute their time, food donation and/or financial donation. If we have missed you, our apologies. And for those who have donated anonymously please know that your donation is very much appreciated.

All anonymous donors and every single community member who donated non perishable food items… THANK YOU!! And a special thank you to the Northern Store and Ramparts for allowing us to place collection bins on site.

We also wish to acknowledge the continuing support of Food Banks Canada to the Town of Norman Wells Free Pantry.

Most recently we received funding through the Food Banks Canada Capacity Building grant. This allows us to build a new pantry, add new freezers and purchase a cargo vehicle for the food bank. This cargo vehicle will be a new retrofitted Ford Bronco. We have also added the idea of making this a mobile food bank as well. That will be able to go to events, as well as do pop up food banks in various parts of town.

THANK YOU NORMAN WELLS!
