Advancement of Equity and Inclusion Committee Update

The Town of Norman Wells Advancement of Equity and Inclusion Committee was established to promote the benefits of equity and inclusion; and encourage community residents to take part in programs as participants, leaders and organizers.  The committee strives to participate in and assist with programs and community events.

Upon its adoption, the Advancement of Equity and Inclusion Committee began reviewing, and continues to review Town by-laws, procedures, and manuals to make the as equitable and inclusive to all. The Committee also provided feedback and suggestions to the Recreation Department regarding Canada Day Ceremonies this year.

The Committee has been communicating with Mackenzie Mountain School and plans to play a large role in Pride celebrations this coming September.
