Town Council Update- March 2, 2022

Norman Wells Town Council Unanimously voted to remove proof of vaccination requirements for all town owned recreation facilities.


The motion was brought up after GNWT announced that public health restrictions are being eased to move towards ending the public health emergency.


Changes in restrictions include:


*self-isolation after travel will no longer be required, and any person will be able to travel to the NWT, regardless of purpose or vaccine status.

*no gathering restrictions.

*Proof of Vaccine program no longer mandatory.


Masks are still mandatory in facilities as per GNWT Masking order.

Council also appointed 2 more members to the Economic Development and Tourism Committee; welcome Crystal and Zuzana, and one member to the Advancement of Equity and Inclusion Committee; welcome Kylie!
