As summer begins to wind down and the leaves eventually begin to change, I would like to take the time to thank our community for being such great neighbors to one another. It has been one of the hottest summers I can remember, and our Fire Restriction has been in effect for most of it and will continue until conditions change. The restriction has been inconvenient for all of us, but I commend the community for banding together and keeping everyone safe.
On another note, I have noticed a major increase in helmet compliance this summer. This is great to see as helmets are proven to keep riders safe in the unfortunate event someone gets into an accident. Bylaw is still handing out ice cream/slushies to residents who are observed wearing helmets and operating in a safe manner. It makes me happy to see our community riding ATVs and enjoying the natural beauty our community has to offer in a safe and respectful manner.
Not only has there been an increase in compliance from our two-legged residents but also a very noticeable increase in the four-legged residents. The average calls for service from animal control have decrease approximately 80% compared to last summer. As a pet owner myself this makes me happy. Our four-legged furry friends are just as much a part of our community.
Let’s keep up the positive momentum Norman Wells. These reasons above are just a few of the things that make Norman Wells such a great community to live. If anyone has any concerns for bylaw or anything protective services related, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me.
Enjoy the rest of what this summer has to offer Norman Wells and be safe! Thanks!
